Background
Joining us from Burnard Bull, Joe was educated at Victoria University and graduated LLB in 1977. He was admitted to the bar that same year and joined Burnard Bull in 1979. He became a partner there in 1984.
Interests
Joe is interested in yachting, snow skiing and is actively involved in local drama productions. He serves on the committee of Historic Places Tairawhiti, is a trustee of Te Ha 1769 Sestercentennial Trust and also of Tairawhiti Heritage Trust. Joe is also a trustee of the Sunshine Foundation. He is a past trustee of the Eastland Community Trust and a former council member of the Gisborne Chamber of Commerce, where he served for 29 years. Joe is a Past President of the Gisborne District Law Society and he currently acts for a number of community organisations.
